Our mission…

Springfield Veterinary Center is a full-service veterinary facility established in July 2000 by Dr. Steve Escobar, who retired in 2023. We are proud to provide comprehensive veterinary care, including medical diagnosis and treatment, an in-house pharmacy, dental services, surgery, emergency care, and advanced imaging such as radiography, OFA, and PennHIP evaluations.

Dr. Kolster and Dr. Ontiveros are PennHIP certified and bring advanced expertise in reproductive medicine. As a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenology, Dr. Kolster offers specialized reproductive services, including progesterone timing, artificial insemination (including surgical procedures), pregnancy ultrasounds, and canine semen freezing and storage.

Springfield Veterinary Center is an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), a distinction earned by only approximately 14% of veterinary hospitals in North America. We undergo regular, rigorous inspections to ensure we meet AAHA’s high standards across all areas of care, including surgery, pharmacy, laboratory services, medical records, cleanliness, emergency care, dentistry, nursing, diagnostics, and anesthesiology.

Our Canine Reproductive Center is widely recognized for its high standards of excellence and progressive treatment options, serving clients throughout the region.

Conveniently located in Glen Allen, just north of Broad Street at the corner of Gaskins Road and Springfield Road, our facility is easily accessible—only minutes from Interstate 64 (Gaskins Road North exit).
