Vaccination Protocols

Drs. Escobar, Scotti and Kolster provide routine core vaccines for puppies and kittens every 3-4 weeks from 9 weeks to 16 weeks old.  Puppies receive dhpp (week 12 and week 16 are the most critical of this vaccine) and rabies at week 16.  Kittens require RCP vaccine every 3-4 weeks from 9 weeks to 16 weeks old, rabies vaccine at week 16.

Continued Vaccine Protocols….

PUPPIES:

  • At 1 year, puppies receive dhpp vaccine.  This dose will be preventative for 2 years.  dhpp is administered every 3 years for adult dogs.
  • At 1 year, puppies receive rabies vaccine.  Rabies vaccine is administered every 3 years for adult dogs.

KITTENS:

  • At 1 year, kittens receive rabies vaccine.  Cats receive yearly non adjuvanted rabies vaccine.
  • At 1 year, kittens receive RCP.  RCP is administered every 3 years for adult cats.

Other vaccines for dogs and cats are not a part of the core vaccines above and are provided based on lifestyle and exposure potential of the particular pet.
